Can I enable cross-play in Valorant on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC?

As of now, Valorant does not support cross-play between PC and console players. However, according to Riot Games, Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 players will be able to play together. They will just be incapable of joining games with PC players.

Riot Games stated this decision stems from a “commitment to maintaining competitive integrity.” The company went on to add it should ensure a fair experience on all platforms. It’s possible that it is referring to the differences in control schemes. Particularly, this could be in regards to the precision of mouse and keyboard versus the analog sticks of controllers. By separating console and PC players, the company noted it hopes to keep the competitive landscape balanced and fair.

Although cross-play between PC and consoles is not available at the moment, Riot Games’ decision seems to be about maintaining competitive balance. It’s worth noting that as the gaming landscape evolves, Riot may revisit this decision based on player feedback and other factors.

Is cross-progression supported inValorant?

While cross-play is restricted to consoles only, the inclusion of cross-progression is a significant advantage for players. This feature allows for seamless transitions between platforms including PC to consoles and vice-versa.

This ensures that your in-game progress, purchases, and achievements are preserved regardless of where you play. Cross-progression is particularly beneficial for players who want to switch between PC and either PS5 or Xbox Series X versions of Valorant without starting from scratch.

This way, no matter how you plan to approach Valorant you’ll have all your content every time you boot the game. It’s a welcome addition and crucial for players with multiple platforms.

Valorant is currently available on PCs, and the beta period for PS5 and Xbox Series X begins June 14, 2024.
