After finishing Dead Space, Visceral Games started work on The Ripper. This title starred Jack the Ripper as a vampire hunter and was targeted for HD consoles. The project was never formally announced, but multiple rumors mention the game and Electronic Arts filed trademarks for the potential title.
Now, we might have a glimpse of The Ripper. Former Visceral Games concept artist "Joebot" posted sketches of undead creatures and a character that looks like a shadowy Jack the Ripper. He worked on Dead Space and moved on to new IP between 2008 – 2009, which was when rumors about The Ripper began to bubble.
Before creating action games, Visceral Games (then EA Redwood Shores) made The Simpsons Game, which spoofed the video game industry. Parody posters for Dead Space, The Sims, and Half-Life were created, but didn’t make it into the game.
