With Pokemon Scarlet and Violet receiving its final DLC, you may wonder whether Game Freak added a Battle Tower in Pokemon Indigo Disk. Here is everything you need to know about the Indigo Disk post-game.
Battle Tower in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet explained
There is no Battle Tower in the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC. After you complete the expansion’s three-hour campaign, no additional mode lets you battle against the game’s strongest trainers. So, unfortunately, you will have to settle for the Blueberry Academy’s Elite Four if you want to get your Pokemon Battle fix in the Indigo Disk.
So what exactly can you do once you’ve beaten the Indigo Disk? After you’ve caught Terapgos and reached the end credits, the only thing left for you to do is to complete BBQ Quests to obtain Blueberry Points. With the BP you earn, you can unlock Legendary Pokemon such as Kyogre, craft items, unlock new throwing styles, and finish your Blueberry Pokedex.
If there is no Battle Tower, what can you do in the Pokemon Indigo Post-Game?
While there is no Battle Tower in the Pokemon Indigo Disk DLC, players can take advantage of a couple of features as an alternative to the missing mode. Below is a list of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet features to help with the pain of no Battle Tower:
Ace Academy Tournament
Game Freak has updated the Ace Academy Tournament mode in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Although this is not a replacement for a battle mode, the update has added higher levels for the trainers in the tournament and given them Indigo Disk DLC Pokemon.
So, if you want a combat challenge, select the Paldea region map and warp to the Naranja or Uva Academy. Once inside the school, walk up to the front lobby desk and speak to the NPC wearing a blue shirt. Here, you can sign up for the tournament, which you can play as many times as you want for a challenge.
You can face off against Trainers such as Geeta and Nemona. With the Indigo Disk DLC, they are now at a higher level and have new Pokemon featured in the Blueberry Academy. Here is a list of the Trainers you can currently battle in the Ace Academy Tournament:
- Jacq
- Salvatore
- Dendra
- Saguaro
- Tyme
- Raifort
- Miriam
- Penny
- Arven
- Geeta
- Director Clavell
- Hassel
- Nemona
Indigo Disk Special Coach Battles
While not a tournament or combat-specific mode, the Indigo Disk Special Coach feature actually includes battles. After progressing the DLC far enough, you will eventually join the BB League. Inside the League Club Room is a PC that lets you invite people to visit the Blueberry Academy as a “Special Coach.”
These Special Coache’s can trade Pokemon with you, and also battle. Yep, you read that right. You can actually battle these iconic Pokemon Scarlet and Violet characters, and there are over 29 Trainers to choose from. However, you can only invite up to four coaches at a time.
Below is a list of every Special Coach in the Indigo Disk:
- Crispin
- Larry
- Penny
- Rika
- Director Clavell
- Grusha
- Kofu
- Hassell
- Katy
- Drayton
- Dendra
- Brassius
- Miriam
- Iono
- Nemona
- Amarys
- Arven
- Poppy
- Ryme
- Raifort
- Tulip
- Saguaro
- Salvatore
- Cyrano
- Kieran
- Lacey
- Tyme
- Carmine
- Jacq
If you manage to invite all 29 Special Coaches to the Blueberry Academy, you will eventually be able to call Director Cyrano, who will trade you his Shiny Blitzle. So there is definitely a lot to chew on here if you are looking to do something after the Indigo Disk DLC is over.
The Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC is now available on the Nintendo Switch.
