How to Defeat Seismic Talus in LOZ Echoes of Wisdom

The boss in the first The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom dungeon Suthorn Ruins is Seismic Talus. Zelda has her Swordfighter form at this point, which you can use to beat it up! Especially since it frequently drops the energy needed to recharge that gauge. However, there’s a faster way!

How do I quickly beat the Seismic Talus in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?

While Swordfighter form will play a part, you’ll also need the Caromadillo and Peahat echoes you learned from beating monsters in the Suthorn Forest on your way to the Still World entrance and Suthorn Ruins. For the first half of the fight, the only weak point on Seismic Talus will be the glowing purple orb on the bottom of it. Stand in front of the monster and summon Caromadillo.

You can see the sort of proper positioning for that attack in the screenshot I took below.

The key here is Caromadillo immediately is rolling forward in the direction Zelda is facing and attacking when summoned. So you can spam summoning it until the Seismic Talus disappears and only the purple orb remains. When that happens, enter Swordfighter form and button mash until the orb disappears and boss reappears.

For the second part of the Seismic Talus boss fight in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, the glowing purple weak spots will be in the boss’ arm and head. This is where the Peahat echo comes in. Like Caromadillo, it will be on the attack when summoned. Because of the rate of attack, it will quickly damage it until it turns into the prone purple orb. Again, adopt Swordfighter form and swing at it until the boss is defeated.

The rift will be repaired. That area of the Suthorn region will be restored. Tri will go up a level, so you can summon more echoes. Zelda will also get an extra heart container. You’ll also get more of the parts you’ll need to upgrade Link’s sword or Zelda’s Swordfighter form.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is available for the Nintendo Switch.
