Is the Cult of the Lamb DLC Worth It?

As DLC is a common practice among development teams, a plethora of games tend to have additional content to purchase. Players who have already invested in a game want to know if the extra content provided to them is worth the price tag. As Cult of the Lamb has four options to choose from, this guide will show you which DLC is worth it.

Cultist Pack

Released August 24, 2022, the Cultist Pack is the first DLC released for Cult of the Lamb. The Cultist Pack includes 7 Base Decorations, 5 Follower Forms,  and 2 Exclusive Outfits. Below are lists of each form, decoration, and outfit included in the pack:

The Cultist Pack costs $6.99 for players to purchase. Similar to other DLC for Cult of the Lamb, every piece of content in this pack is cosmetic that doesn’t affect gameplay. Players that want a luscious green base will want this pack. However, for those who don’t care about cosmetic alterations, the Cultist Pack is not worth it.

Heretic Pack

As the second DLC pack, the Heretic Pack was released on April 24, 2023 for $6.99. Massive Monster adds 8 Base Decorations, 5 Follower Forms, and a new Fleece for the Lamb. Here is everything included in Heretic Pack:

Fleeces in Cult of the Lamb provide different effects for the Lamb. For instance, the Golden Fleece gives a 5% damage boost per kill, but the Lamb takes double the damage. The Fleece of the Heretics has no effect, however, as it is cosmetic only. This Heretic Pack is for those who want to customize their cult with a more bloodied appearance. However, for those not interested in this look, this DLC pack can be skipped.

Sinful Pack

The third DLC pack for Cult of the Lamb released January 16, 2024 as the Sinful Pack. This DLC pack includes 6 Base Decorations, 5 Follower Forms, 6 Follower Outfits, and a Fleece for the Lamb. This lists below is everything included in this pack:

Compared to Cultist Pack and Heretic Pack, the Sinful Pack offers more cosmetics for Followers. The $6.99 price tag for the Sinful Pack is worth it for those who want more varied outfits for their followers.

Pilgrim Pack

As the fourth DLC pack for Cult of the Lamb, the Pilgrim Pack includes 5 Base Decorations, a new Fleece, 3 Follower Forms, 2 Follower Outfits, a quest, and a new story for players. Here is everything included in Pilgrim Pack released on August 12, 2024:

• Hanging Lantern
• Small Pagoda
• Vase of Peonies

• Jalala’s Coat

The Pilgrim story included in this DLC pack revolves around Jalala and Rinor as they search for someone. However, a deadly beast stalks the land waiting for its next prey. The way this story is presented is unique in comparison to other portions of the game. The Pilgrim story is an interactive quest told through the guise of a comic book. Even at the price tag of $8.99, The Pilgrim Pack is worth more than the other packs combined.

Is the DLC worth the price?

Though the Pilgrim Pack is worth the slightly higher price tag, you can still purchase the other DLC in one bundle. As most of the DLCs are cosmetic, you won’t need to purchase them. Massive Monster often includes free items to unlock with each major update. However, the Pilgrim Pack is worth the $8.99 price.
