If you’re considering diving into ARK: Survival Ascended, you may wonder which platform to purchase it on or whether to buy it on multiple. Here’s what you need to know about whether ARK: Survival Ascended is cross-platform.
Can I access my ARK: Survival Ascended save across different platforms?
Long story short, you can access your save across different platforms, but not just yet. ARK: Survival Ascended is currently only available on PC (Steam), though it is set for a console launch sometime in November 2023. Once the game is playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, cross-platform play will be enabled, meaning you can pick up where you left off on PC and jump back into the action on PS5, for example.
There’s no date yet for ARK: Survival Ascended’s console launch; all we know is it will be in November.
Does ARK: Survival Ascended have cross-play?
Cross-play is planned once the console version releases in November, though the feature is disabled until further notice while Studio Wildcard works on fixing errors. “We’re still planning to keep crossplay between Steam and Consoles disabled until we’ve entered the quicker certification process, but that decision could change based on how things are looking with PC at the time,” the devs wrote in a blog post on October 25, 2023.
Once live, those playing on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S will be able to join each others’ games and survive the dinosaur threat together. Unfortunately, those on PS4 and Xbox One won’t be able to play ARK: Survival Ascended as the game is next-gen compatible only.
ARK: Survival Ascended is available now on PC (Steam). A console release is planned for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in November 2023.
