Sega shared new screenshots of Resonance of Fate’s t.A.B. battle system with Zephyr in the middle of a gunfight.
Moving plays two roles in combat. First, it moves your character out of harms way. That’s pretty obvious. You also have to run on fixed paths (called anchors) to charge up an invincible action. Complete the run to stock resonance. Get enough resonance and the anchor path forms a triangle around your party members, a trigger for a powerful resonance attack.
All of the running makes Resonance of Fate’s battle system… unique. I’ll be interesting to see how it works when the game comes out on January 28, 2010.
