Level-5 President Akihiro Hino tweeted out that more information on Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes (previously known as Inazuma Eleven Ares) will come out sometime by the end of April 2020.
The game has had quite a troubled history, having been announced originally for Summer 2018 when the Inazuma Eleven Ares anime was still ongoing, but later delayed into 2019. Later, the game was delayed past 2019 when Hino explained that the game would now be developed internally by Level-5 rather than being outsourced. It is now supposedly going to release in Spring 2020, despite no information since then. This means it has essentially been around two years since the project was announced to be in development.
According to Hino, since Level-5 took back the project, development has been complicated due to a change in the development engine. Details on when and what sort of direction and format they aim to take the game in will be announced sometime by the end of April. He released a brand-new picture for the game, seen above, and asked players to wait just a bit longer for more details.
Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes is in development for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS and Android, and is set for Spring 2020. The game is also set to come West.
