In the same video, Hino also showed footage from the latest Switch build, where the player-controlled character moves around various locations while being followed by party members. He added that Great Road of Heroes will be a compilation of the Inazuma Eleven series, but not the final title in the franchise.

In September 2020, Akihiro Hino posted a message that stated Level-5 is prioritizing the development of Yo-kai Academy Y over the new Inazuma Eleven game. The former released on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in 2020 in Japan, and it also received multiple post-release content updates. The company is also currently working on Megaton Musashi, a mecha action-RPG. Its latest trailer published at Jump Festa 2021 held in December 2020.

Inazuma Eleven: Great Road of Heroes is currently in development for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and both Android and iOS devices.
