If you’re a fan of Studio Ghibli and the works of Hayao Miyazaki then you’ve probably already dreamed up what a videogame based on their animations would look like.

Well, now you no longer have to dream, as CineFix has recreated Spirited Away as an 8-bit (with some 16-bit) video game. The whole film from start to finish is depicted in the video as you can watch above. Obviously, many of the finer details of the film are skipped, but if you’ve watched the film then you can fill in the gaps.

Even if you haven’t seen it, it should make for an enjoyable summation with plenty of that 8-bit charm to coax you along.

This Spirited Away video is part of CineFix’s “8-Bit Cinema” series, which has previously included Star Trek, Blade Runner, The Avengers, and many more. Watch them all here.
