A little while ago, Ikaruga and Sin & Punishment developers Treasure stated over Twitter that there would be some “good news” concerning Ikaruga soon. Now, we know what that good news is.

Ikagura is on Steam Greenlight. Treasure are attempting to release it on PC.

Ikaruga is a shoot-em-up that was originally released for arcades in 2001 in Japan. The game features enemies and bullets that switch between black and white colours. Your ship can change colour, too, and can absorb enemy bullets of the same colour.

The Steam version of Ikagura is based on the Xbox 360 version of the game. The Steam version supports vertical mode, 2-player local co-op and Double Play Mode, which allows you to play two ships with one controller.

Over on Twitter, Treasure say, “New challenge! We are trying to distribute Treasure games on Steam. First, we posted Ikaruga information on Steam Greenlight today.”

That makes it sound like we could potentially see other Treasure games come to Steam, too. Radiant Silvergun would be an obvious follow-up to Ikaruga.
