I am Part-Time Worker Combines Convenience Store Sim With Assaults

An upcoming indie PC game called I am Part-Time Worker will put players in the shoes of a new convenience store employee forced to deal with unruly customers with physical violence while also going about typical duties. It is coming soon to Steam and, while it is from a Japanese developer, will be available in English, Japanese, Korean, and both Simplified and Traditional Chinese.

Players follow Ippatsu, who just started working at a Ichigeki City convenience store. After being left to do everything on his first day, some customers begin acting up. It is then up to Ippatsu to handle them, apparently with a crowbar, to get them to stop doing things like rob the store, sleep in the freezers, lounge in boxes of merchandise, and put up flags of themselves outside the shop.

Here’s the first I am Part-Time Worker Japanese trailer from developer KomeFukuro’s social media account. It begins with a foiled robbery attempt. After that, there are some normal customer interactions. However, then it shows some people drinking things without paying for them, sleeping in coolers, trying to steal the store’s safe, setting off fireworks in the parking lot, and engaging in other inappropriate activities. A penguin shopper comes up at the very end.

The initial screenshots also show what convenience store management will be like in the game:
