Compile Heart has been regularly updating Hyperdimension Neptunia with pay to play downloadable quests and item packs. *checks PSN* Yup, there’s new Neptunia content on there.
There are also plans to add two new companies, represented as anthromorphic characters, to Hyperdimension Neptunia. 5pb-chan is a world travelling street musician. She’s based on the company behind games like Chaos;Head Noah, Phantom Breaker, and Bullet Soul. Strangely enough, 5pb-chan will be the company’s first appearance on PlayStation 3. While the publisher releases a sizable amount of PSP games, all of 5pb’s HD games are for Xbox 360.
Red-chan is a moe mascot for Sakura Wars developer Red Entertainment. On the Neptunia blog, Compile Heart talked about designing Red-chan. Did you know her name has a secret meaning? The "R" is represented in her hairdo (it’s red), "E" is shown in her cup size, and "D" is for the dragon on her shoulder. Red-chan’s personality is like tomboy.
A date for the downloadable characters has not been announced. Compile Heart says it may take some time because they are developing new scenarios for these characters too.
NIS America announced they are publishing Hyperdimension Neptunia in North America and Europe, but they haven’t said if the Western version will include content like this and an option to use characters like Gust-chan without paying for downloadable content.
A tip of the hat and gold dragon star to Alyssa for the tip!
