A new 3D dungeon-crawler has been announced for PCs. Asakusa Studios and Happinet are working on Hyakki Castle. The game tasks people with making a party of characters inspired by ones from Japanese history and folklore, then send them into a castle to find out why yokai are roaming about Hyakki Castle.
Hyakki Castle is set during the Edo period in Japan and, as such, draws from history, stories, and Ukiuo-e art from the 18th century. When making a party of four characters, you can choose from male or female Human, Nekomata, Oni, or Tengu characters, each with their own skills. The classes shown in the launch trailer are the Ninja, Samurai, Shinkan (Shinto Priest), and Sohei (Monk). When exploring, you can actually split your party into two.
Hyakki Castle will come to PCs in Winter 2017.
