Huge Dragon Ball FighterZ Balance Patch Covers All 44 Characters

Bandai Namco released the 1.38 Dragon Ball FighterZ balance patch on almost every platform on September 4, 2024, and the changes affect all 24 base game and 20 DLC characters. It is available on almost every system, though there is no release window for the Switch version yet.

The full 1.38 patch notes for Dragon Ball FighterZ is 21 pages long. As such, Bandai Namco made it available as a pdf online for people to view and download. Some of the changes are universal. For example, now everyone can be hit by anti air attacks, when in the past some attacks were described as ā€œinvincible.ā€ If you use a Special Move during a Sparking Blast, you can use a Special Move or Super Dash. The cooldown for the C Type Z Assist is also longer going forward.

As for the characters who are affected by the balance changes in the new Dragon Ball FighterZ patch, some fighters are affected more than others. For example, there are 14 alterations in the Goku (Ultra Instinct) section. Others may not experience as many differences between past patches and this one. So in the case of Vegeta, there are only six changes to his moveset. It seems like, on average, most characters ended up experiencing between 9-11 changes in the update.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is available on the PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and PC. The new 1.38 patch is immediately available on every platform except the Switch now.
