Hudson is making a small fortune selling Bonk ROMs on the Virtual Console and they aren’t stopping there. The portable home for TurboGrafx-16 classics is the PSP.
On July 31, the first two entries in the PC Engine Best Collection will arrive in Japan priced at 2,940 yen ($28). If you’re a fan of Tengai Makyou (Far East of Eden) you can pick up a UMD with two of the games, the Kabuki spin off and the even stranger fighting game starring Kabuki. If you’re not familiar to the series you might not understand why Kabuki, a womanizer with 80s rocker hair, is so popular. Actually, I’m not even sure why Kabuki is held in such high regard.
The other collection is games from the Ginga Ojousama Densetsu / Galaxy Fraulein Yuna series, which has its origins on the PC Engine. Now, the series spread out to anime, PsOne games and so forth. You get the first two games and Sapphire, a vertical shmup that I heard is quite a rare find.
Tengai Makyou Collection contains:
Far East of Eden Ziria
Far East of Eden II: Manji Maru
Tengai Makyou: Fuun Kabukiden
Kabuki Itouryodan
Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Collection contains:
Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Yuna
Ginga Ojousama Densetsu Yuna 2
Ginga Fukei Densetsu: Sapphire
