As Version 3.8 of Genshin Impact winds down to a close, it’s about time to start thinking about Fontaine. In an official statement via the Genshin Impact Twitter account, HoYoVerse offered some information on how players can easily access the new region. Even if you’re not fully caught up with the main story, you’ll be able to jump right into it.
A 4.0 Teleport Waypoint will make it possible to get to Fontaine in Genshin Impact swiftly.
After Version 4.0 goes live in Genshin Impact, there will be a Teleport Waypoint in the Realm of Farakhkert in Sumeru that will automatically take you to Fontaine. Back when Sumeru first launched, players had to manually traverse to the new region from the Chasm, which lies in between it and Liyue. The only caveat is that you’ll need to first complete the Archon Quest Prologue: Act III. You’ll also need to explore Sumeru. The Realm of Farakhkert is in the desert close to the Girdle of the Sands.
HoYoVerse also suggested finishing Archon Quest Chapter III: Act VI “Caribert,” though does not mention whether or not this is a necessary requirement to start the Fontaine Archon Quests. Caribert focused on the Khaenri’ah subplot, as well as Kaeya. Since playing these will supposedly increase your enjoyment of the Fontaine story, it’s likely that it will give us more details about that side of the story
Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. A Special Program about what will await Travelers in Fontaine will air on August 4, 2023 at 4:30 AM PT/7:30 AM ET/1:30 PM CEST.
