Some of the best secrets in Vampire Survivors are cryptic but linked to pop culture. So, what does it mean to “uppercut a non-red reaper” in Vampire Survivors?
Uppercuting a non-red reaper to unlock Toastie in Vampire Survivors
Head to the Dairy Plant stage with Exdash. Here, a green reaper has a chance to spawn in at minutes 0:00, 8:00, and 12:00. This green reaper can be defeated by a Pentagram, Gorgeous Moon, Rosary, or with one of the mine carts around the level. After their defeat, Toastie should appear on screen for half a second (the Mortal Kombat easter egg). Press the Down Arrow + Enter key combination while Toastie is on screen. When successful, a sound will play.
Additionally, You can try this in Gallo Tower. A blue reaper can sometimes spawn with the giant crab at the 25-minute mark. A Gorgeous Moon or Rosary will quickly dispatch the enemy. So, while it is an alternative option, the Dairy Plant method is still easier to pull off. Either way, doing this will unlock Toastie for play.
How to unlock Toastie in Vampire Survivors
Luckily, you don’t actually have to uppercut a non-red reaper to unlock Toastie in Vampire Survivors. This is actually a pretty clever Mortal Kombat reference. You see, in order to unlock Toastie you need to simply defeat a non-red reaper during a run.
The “uppercut” is a reference to the famous Dan Forden “Toasty!” pop-up in Mortal Kombat. Something similar happens when you defeat a non-red reaper, and “uppercut” is the hint. Before we unlock Toastie, however, you’ll need to unlock Exdash. You can actually do this quickly by going to the main menu and typing in “x-x1viiq”.
Strangely, this unlock method doesn’t work on Switch and Xbox. On console, you’ll need to use the alternate method. After unlocking Exdash, use the Forbidden Scrolls of Morbane and cast the Spell “tramezzini.”
Vampire Survivors Emergency Meeting DLC is now available for the Xbox One, Xbox Series X, mobile, and PC. The DLC is coming to Switch at a later date.
