Like many farming games, Fae Farm has an array of tools you can upgrade to become more efficient. In the case of the axe, pickaxe, sickle, shovel, and watering can, upgrades add magical abilities that cover larger spaces. For the critter net and fishing rod in Fae Farm, it can mean being able to catch things you couldn’t before. However, the methods of upgrading differs depending on the type of equipment it is.
How to upgrade tools in Fae Farm
Tools fall into two categories, as there are some that automatically used when the context is correct and others you need to switch to. These are upgraded in two different ways. In the case of the axe, pickaxe, sickle, shovel, and watering can, you need to head to Cinder the Blacksmith to upgrade them with items you’ve mined in Fae Farm. For the critter net and fishing rod, you need to hit certain levels of proficiency in catching creatures or fish, then go to the NPC and store tied to them with enough money to upgrade the old one to the new one.
For Cinder tool upgrades, you need various ingots made of ore from a dungeon and money. So in chapter 3, you’ll only have access to Copper and Iron from the Saltwater Mines. That lets you purchase two upgrades, with the improved iron variants allowing you to press the Y button to use some sort of area-based move to perform the action over an area. All the copper versions require one copper ingot and 100 gold florin. The iron versions need two iron ingots and 500 gold florin. This continues on until you’ve acquired all six upgrades available.
