How to unlock Vaults in Diablo 4 Season 3 Season of the Construct

To gain access to Vaults in Season 3, you will need to complete the seasonal storyline. You can learn about how to start it here. The seasonal storyline does have quite a bit of meat to it. It took me roughly 4-5 hours to complete, and my character on World Tier I was level 32 by the time I finished.

Vaults can be found in The Gateway, which is unlocked by, as you guessed it, progressing the seasonal story. This area will become your major hub throughout Season 3 and provide you with a place to upgrade and dismantle your weapons, create Tuning Stones for your Seneschal, and augment items.

You can see where you can access Vaults in The Gateway on the map provided below:

The list of Vaults includes:

  • Vault of Copper
  • Vault of Stone
  • Vault of Cinders
  • Vault of the Loom
  • Vault of Ink

Within these Vaults, you can use Pearls of Warding to obtain Zoltun’s Warding. If you can complete the Vault within the parameters given, you will receive extra rewards through this unique buff. To sustain the buff, you must not be hit by any traps within the Vault. You can also stack as many buffs as you have Pearls.

Pearls can be obtained by defeating Heralds of Malphas inside the Vaults themselves, which ties into the gameplay loop of Season 3. So there is value in running these Vaults as they keep the loop going and reward you with Tuning Stones and Legendaries. Players can also use Nightmare Vault Sigils to increase their difficulty and reap greater rewards.

Diablo 4 is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. The Vessel of Hatred DLC expansion will arrive in late 2024.
