How to Unlock Vampire Survivors Darkasso Relic and Darkanas

The 1.11.1 Vampire Survivors update also added a Darkasso Relic to unlock and Darkanas feature. However, getting access to the new modifier cards is pretty tough!

How do I unlock the Darkasso Relic in Vampire Survivors?

To get access to the new Darkanas feature in Vampire Survivors, you need to get the Darkasso Relic from the new Room 1665 stage. You unlock that stage by using a cheat code in the Secrets menu

It’s incredibly challenging. I recommend characters with major AOE attacks. When I beat it, I used Miang Moonspell and picked up Pummarola, Garlic, Runetracer, Armor, Pentacle, and Crown, and I found those were all incredibly helpful.

How do I unlock Darkanas in Vampire Survivors?

Well, fortunately for us, Poncle actually explained how to unlock each of the initial Darkanas in Vampire Survivors after you get the new Relic. The instructions are a part of the Steam patch notes for 1.11.1. Everyone starts with just the Moonlight Bolero VI Darkana, since that comes with the relic. It will make an additional stage boss appear every minute, which can drop an extra Treasure Chest, Arcana Chest, or passive weapon Black Treasure Chest when defeated. None of the unlocks for the other Darkana require you to buy any of the game’s DLC.

Here are the other four Darkanas available after 1.11.1, along with Poncle’s official descriptions and unlock instructions for them:

  • I – Sapphire Mist: Unlocked by finishing a run when Space Dude has a cooldown bonus of -85%. Every time any equipped weapon fires, it has a Luck-based chance to activate again. This affects is augmented on certain weapons, that will activate 2-3 times instead of just once.
  • X – Hail From The Future: Unlocked by triggering a Weird Souls Purifier with Santa Ladonna. Every time you level up, a Luck-and-Level-based amount of pickups appears on the stage. The possible pickups include Gold Fingers, Gilded Clovers, Candyboxes, and Arma Dios among others.
  • XII – Crystal Cries: Unlocked by triggering a Starry Heavens with She-Moon Eeta. When the character’s health drops below 20%, an Orologion is triggered. This ability recharges when reaching full Health. Defeating frozen enemies generates Crystallized Souls, that when picked up restore a bit of Health and provide little bonuses to Growth, MaxHealth, and Recovery.
  • XXI – Wandering the Jet Black: Unlocked by reaching 665 MaxHealth with Bat Robbert. Losing Health generates exploding projectiles. The amount of Health recovered during the run contributes to the damage inflicted by the explosions. Magnet affects the area and damage of the explosions too.

Vampire Survivors is on the Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and mobile devices now. The Darkasso 1.11.1 update went live on August 15, 2024. The PS4 and PS5 versions launch on August 29, 2024.
