New in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred is the Undercity, a dungeon that rewards players for maxing out their carnage within a limited amount of time. Once you have a few Undercity runs under your belt, you might be looking to make things a little more challenging, or earn better rewards. This is where Tributes come in. Tributes are dungeon keys you can offer at the Undercity Spirit Brazier to upgrade the kind of loot you find on your runs. This typically comes at the cost of having less starting time or fewer potions drop while you’re inside the dungeon. Unlocking them is fairly simple, but obtaining them is a little trickier. Tributes unlock alongside the Undercity after completing the priority quest offered by Ormus in Kurast shortly after the “Fundaments of Faith” campaign quest. Speak to Ormus to pick up the Undercity priority quest. This questline will guide you through the Undercity mechanics and have you visit each Undercity district, all of which are punctuated with a boss fight. How to Use Tributes in Diablo 4

To use a tribute, interact with the Spirit Brazier as if you were starting an Undercity run. In the window that opens, there will be a slot to drag and drop a tribute onto. Hovering over a tribute will reveal information on how it affects your rewards, and the penalties it adds to your run. Once your tribute is set, you’ll then have the option to add a Bargain alongside it. Bargains allow you to tweak the outcome of your rewards at the cost of some materials. You can guarantee extra loot drops, or guarantee a specific piece of gear will drop with a desired aspect. The more lucrative the bargain, the rarer the materials you’ll need to enable it! Once you’ve set your tribute and your bargain, you’re ready to venture into the Undercity!

How to Get Tributes in Diablo 4

Obtaining tributes is somewhat random. They drop as a reward for completing various activities in Vessel of Hatred. This includes dungeons, the Undercity, opening Tree of Whispers caches, and so on.
