How to Unlock the Vanguard Dungeon in FFXIV Dawntrail

  • Accept the Main Scenario Quest “All Aboard”
  • Reach Level 97 on any Disciple of War of Disciple of Magic Job Class
  • Reach Item Level 645

Like previous dungeons in Dawntrail, Vanguard will unlock through Main Scenario Quest progression. After a series of unfortunate events, players will find themselves back in the more desert-like climes of Tural as they head to the next major location in the Main Scenario. For the sake of spoilers, I won’t be elaborating any more on that.

Once again, the Trust System is available for players to use. This will allow for you to take specific NPCs into the Vanguard with you, if you’d prefer not to play with other players. Using the Trust System is a reliable way to learn mechanics in a dungeon, but I do suggest playing with other players just for the experience.

Final Fantasy XIV is immediately available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. The Dawntrail expansion is available in Early Access, with the full release to appear on July 2, 2023. If you want to know how to redeem your Early Access codes, you can read about that here.
