How to Unlock The Royal Menagerie in FFXIV

One of the final Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood Main Scenario Trials, The Royal Menagerie is one of the more complex ones in this expansion. With several phase transitions and layers of different mechanics, the normal and Extreme version of this fight are rough. How to Unlock The Royal Menagerie in FFXIV: Stormblood

Since The Royal Menagerie is part of the Main Scenario, this Trial is mandatory to complete the Stormblood expansion. In fact, this Trial wraps up the content for the base version of Stormblood, and you will absolutely know when you encounter it after picking the quest “Stormblood.” The quest for this Trial can be found at X:32.6, Y:22.9 in The Lochs. Unlike The Pool of Tribute and Emanation, there will be Item Level requirements for this specific Trial.

The requirements for unlocking The Royal Menagerie are as follows:

• Level 70
• Item Level 280

How to Unlock The Minstrel’s Ballad: Shinryu’s Domain (Extreme)

Similar to previous Trials in FFXIV expansions, The Royal Menagerie features an Extreme mode. This is a far more challenging version of the fight, and while it features some of the same hallmarks of the original fight, it builds on them in more interesting ways. In order to unlock this Extreme Trial you must have completed the Main Scenario Quest “Stormblood.” Like The Pool of Tribute (Extreme) and Emanation (Extreme) you will need to head to Kugane and proceed to X:11.6, Y:12.6 and speak to the Wandering Minstrel. Picking up the quest “Songs in the Key of Kugane.” This will unlock The Minstrel’s Ballad: Shinryu’s Domain.

These are the requirements for unlocking The Royal Menagerie (Extreme):

• Complete Main Scenario Quest “Stormblood”
• Level 70
• Item Level 320
