How to Unlock the Krist Spell in Creatures of Ava

The theme of infection and extinction plays a pivotal role in Creatures of Ava. Early in your adventure, you will obtain a staff called Nafitar. This almighty staff can clear away the withering, an infection that is causing havoc on the planet, but you also need to get and use the the Krist spell for your staff in Creatures of Ava to weaken yellow withering for a limited time so you can use the regular Ushun spell to purify the infection.

How do I unlock the Krist Spell in Creatures of Ava?

Unlocking this spell for your staff is tied with a story-related quest. You will need to start the “Through Stone, We Teach” quest. Nim’ar will ask you to head to the ruins to find a new sagestone. The ruins are located in the weeping rock area. If you have not uncovered this location before, head to Antar Dunes Sibling Tree, which is where you got the southern tree branch for the warm invitation quest. When you reach the area, you will find a small underground pathway. Head through that, and you will discover the weeping rock site.

From here, you will see a witherblossom on the right side. Use the Ushun spell to clear the route. Go down the path, but ignore the creatures inhabiting the area for now. You cannot clear the yellow infection. Jump onto the staircase, follow the path, and clear some more witherblossoms blocking the route. You will then find the sagestone, a cutscene will then transpire, and you will be left with a puzzle.

How do I solve the puzzle for the Krist Spell in Creatures of Ava?

This Krist spell puzzle is very similar to the first one you encountered at the beginning of Creatures of Ava, but a little bit more complicated. You will need to complete the picture with the fragmented jigsaw pieces and put it into a diamond silhouette (rhombus) shape.

The piece in the middle is already in the correct location, so use the remaining six jigsaw pieces to build the shape from here. You want to grab the right bottom piece and rotate it to fit into the centrepiece’s right corner. For the next part of the puzzle, put the right top piece into the top right corner and rotate the fragment piece so the chip will interlock with the gap.

When spun around, the lowest left piece will go into the puzzle’s centre bottom. When turned around, the jigsaw piece in the middle right will fit into the bottom left corner of the puzzle. The left top piece will go into the bottom centre left when rotated. Then, you will have one more left, so place the remaining piece up the top left.

After you have completed this puzzle, your staff will gain the Krist spell.
