While having limited methods of traversal, Palia does allow for players to travel across the map in a Breath of the Wild-style way. This involvesusing a Glider, which we’ll be detailing how to unlock in Palia below.
How do I unlock the Glider in Palia?
While not essential, the Glider allows for a more convenient means of travel. Once you head to Bahari Bay, which can be accessed once you complete the tutorial in Palia, you’ll definitely want this tool at your disposal. This is because you will more than likely be climbing cliff faces to mine iron and obtain other crafting materials.
The Glider can be used at any time in the game once you’ve unlocked it. It also isn’t tied to stamina consumption, so you can use it whenever you want to glide from place to place. You can use it only any map as well, and it is required for special areas you unlock through NPC relationship progression and main scenario progression.
Thankfully, getting the Glider is super easy. You only need to continue the main scenario quests to unlock it. This specific series of quests are given by Jina, who served as your guide through tutorial of Palia. Just keep accepting quests from her, which will lead you to introduce yourself to the various denizens of both Kilima and Bahari Bay, and you’ll be unlocking the Glider in no time.
The particular quest you want is called “Like a Bird.” Once Jina gives it to you, you’ll need to meet with Najuna in Bahari Bay and give her two pieces of fabric, three sapwood planks, and five pieces of leather.
Palia is available on the PC and will release for the Nintendo Switch on December 14, 2023.
