With every Final Fantasy XIV expansion comes a new set of Trials. While some are entirely optional content, others are embedded deep in the Main Scenario. One such Trial is The Dancing Plague, which introduces players to a variety of new mechanics while folding in the familiar. This is how you can unlock The Dancing Plague and its Extreme version, in FFXIV Shadowbringers below.
How to Unlock The Dancing Plague FFXIV: Shadowbringers
The Dancing Plague is part of the Main Scenario of the Shadowbringers expansion. This means that this is not optional content, so you will need to clear this Trial in order to progress the story. Once you obtain the quest “Memento of a Friend” and complete it, pick up the quest “Acht-la Ormh Inn” at X:30.5, Y:7.6. Picking up this quest will unlock The Dancing Plague, which will see you and your party face off against Titania. The Trial itself requires eight players, but since it is so early on in the Shadowbringers Main Scenario Quest, it doesn’t have an Item Level requirement.
The requirements for unlocking The Dancing Plague are as follows:
- Complete “Memento of a Friend”
- Level 73
As a note, you have 60 minutes to complete phase 1, phase 2, add phase, and phase 3. You get the 3-star Titania Triple Triad card for winning.
How to Unlock The Dancing Plague (Extreme)
Like Extreme Trials in Stormblood, Extreme Trials in Shadowbringers are relatively easy to unlock. Upon completing the Main Scenario Quest “Shadowbringers” and reaching Level 80, go to The Crystarium and talk to the Minstreling Wanderer at X:7.5, Y:12.5. Accept the quest “Minstrel from Another Mother.” This will unlock The Dancing Plague (Extreme). You can check the requirements for entering this Extreme Trial below.
- Complete “Minstrel from Another Mother”
- Level 80
- Item level 430
The Extreme version is a four phase fight too. You can still get the 3-star Titania Triple Triad card for winning. You get a King Totem for winning. That can be traded for Titania Weapons if you visit Fathard in Eulmore at X:10.3 Y:11.8. The Treasure Coffer can also drop Titania weapons, the Fae Gwiber mount, the “Faded Copy of What Angel Wakes Me” Orchestrion Roll, and Dancing Wing.
Final Fantasy XIV is immediately available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.
