How to Unlock Hells’ Kier in FFXIV

Part of the Four Lords questline in Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood, Hells’ Kier features a fight against another foe inspired by the Divine Beasts. One of the more challenging fights as part of this series of optional content, the Fire-bird Suzaku will keep you on your feet throughout the fight. This guide will explain how to unlock Hells’ Kier and its Extreme version in FFXIV.

How to Unlock Hells’ Kier FFXIV: Stormblood

As mentioned previously, Hells’ Kier is part of the Four Lords questline. This is entirely optional and can be missed. Additionally, players will also need to complete “An Auspicious Encounter” and defeat Byakko. From there, players will also need to complete “A Tortoise in Time,” which can be found at X:27.9, Y:16.4 in The Ruby Sea. Once you have completed this quest, pick up “The Fire-bird Down Bellow” at X:27.8, Y:16.4 in The Ruby Sea. This will then unlock Hells’ Kier.

The requirements for unlocking The Jade Stoa are as follows:

  • Complete “An Auspicious Encounter” and “A Tortoise in Time”
  • Level 70
  • Item Level 355

How to Unlock Hells’ Kier (Extreme)

Much like unlocking The Jade Stoa (Extreme), Hells’ Kier (Extreme) is just as easy to unlock. Once you’ve cleared the normal version of the Trial you only need to undertake a single quest. Just head to Kugane and proceed to X:11.6, Y:12.6 and speak to the Wandering Minstrel. Picking up the quest “Songs in the Key of Kugane.” This will unlock The Jade Stoa (Extreme).

These are the requirements for unlocking The Jade Stoa (Extreme):

  • Complete “The Fire-bird Down Below”
  • Level 70
  • Item Level 370
