How to Unlock Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower in Tears of the Kingdom

When you reach the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll notice that the activation terminal is broken. Worse, the repair guy is nowhere to be seen. Here’s what you need to do to restore power to the tower and unlock the Gerudo Canyon section of the map.

How do I get the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower working again in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom?

Before solving the puzzle, make sure that you have Heat Resistance, as that scorching Gerudo sun will hurt Link over time otherwise. You can do this by either drinking an Elixir or using Heat Resistance armor.

Look straight across from the tower entrance, and you’ll see a chain pulley system. It features a long chain descending into a canyon and a small metal cube hanging next to it. Peer down the cliff to spot Sawson, the tower repair tech, standing on a wooden platform below. You must use the pulley to pull him up to the Skyview Tower.

To the left of the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower entrance, you’ll find some metal boxes under a canopy that are next to a set of Hyrule Construction Materials. Equip Link’s Ultrahand ability and glue the metal boxes to the small metal cube attached to the pulley system. This will create enough weight to hoist Sawson up. I used four to be on the safe side.

Once Sawson reaches the top, speak to him and he’ll repair the Gerudo Canyon Skyview Tower and gift you a plate of Chilly Steamed Mushrooms as a thank you. Once fixed, interact with the terminal and stand on the platform to launch up and unlock the Gerudo Canyon map.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available to play now, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch. The other Gerudo tower, the Gerudo Highlands Skyview Tower, also requires some puzzle-solving to unlock. (<— Link to other Gerudo tower guide)
