How to get flying in Pokemon Indigo Disk

To unlock flying permanently in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you must complete the Indigo Disk campaign and speak to Blueberry Academy Elite Four leader Amarys. While that sounds simple at a glance, there are a few prerequisites you need to clear before you can take to the sky soaring to your heart’s content.

Here are the steps to unlock flying in Pokemon Indigo Disk:

• Join the BB League after meeting up with Carmine in the tutorial.
• Defeat the Elite Four leaders Crispin, Amarys, Lacey, and Drayton in the Blueberry Academy Terrarium Biomes.
• Face off against Kieran and defeat him to become the new BB League Champion.
• Travel beneath Area Zero in the Great Crater of Paldea with Carmine, Kieran, and Ms. Briar.
• Capture Terapagos and reach the end screen credits.
• Fast travel back to the Blueberry Academy Entrance and then select “Room 3-2.”
• Speak to Amarays in Room 3-2 at the Blueberry Academy where she will permanently unlock flying for Koraidon or Miraidon.

How to fly in Pokemon Indigo Disk

To fly in Pokemon Indigo Disk, you need to press the left joystick in while gliding in the air with either Koraidon or Miraidon. You can not start flying if you are on the ground and need to already be in the air with your Pokemon ride’s wings spread.

Here are the steps on how to fly in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet:

• Press the + button to ride on Koraidon or Miraidon.
• Next, tap the B button on your controller to hop, and then press B again to start gliding.
• While gliding in the air, press down on the left joystick to switch to flying mode.
• Tilt the left joystick up to glide higher in the air, and tilt your stick down to lower Koraidon or Miraidon.
• While flying in the air, press the left joystick in again to boost your speed.

Once you have unlocked flying by beating the Indigo Disk DLC, you can now use Koraidon or Miraidon to fly anywhere on the Paldea and Kitkami map. This is a massive deal if you are looking at Shiny hunting or completing your Pokedex entries, as you can now soar easily across the map.
