How to Unlock Every Synergy Technique for Platypet in Temtem: Swarm

Temtem: Swarm is a fun and whimsical bullet-hell game that clearly takes inspiration from Vampire Survivors. The title is surprisingly strategic, as a few wrong moves can easily end a run. When you defeat an enemy critter, they will leave behind a cube representing experience. If you pick up enough of these cubes, the Temtem will level up, and you will have the opportunity to gain a new perk or level up a current ability you have equipped.

There are two types of perks in Temtem: Swarm. The first form is techniques, which are essentially attacking and defending moves. The other is gears, which are best described as passive abilities. Akin to other games in the genre, if you equip certain perks onto a character during a run, they will gain a new powerful move called a synergy technique. But you guessed it, there is a catch, as the game won’t tell you what partners up together, so it’s left down to you to figure out all the combos. This guide will reveal all the synergy techniques we have found for Platypet and how to get them.

How do I unlock techniques and gears for Platypet in Temtem: Swarm?

Platypet is arguably one of the better Temtems in the game, so knowing all their synergy techniques will massively help you, especially on the Tucma stage. However, before you can unlock a synergy technique for this delightful Temtem, you will have to unlock the relevant technique and gear and then equip them. Some of these perks are automatically unlocked, and others will require you to complete Kudos, which are mini objectives. Below, we will tell you which techniques and gears are tied up with synergy techniques and how to get them.

Techniques for Platypet –

• Fierce Claw – Start the game with this ability
• Fluid Barrier –  Start the game with this ability
• Ki Field – Start the game with this ability
• Toxic Ink – Start the game with this ability
• Water Blade – Start the game with this ability
• Wave – Start the game with this ability
• Pollution  – Deal 12,500 damage with Toxic type techniques
• Water Cannon  – Defeat Oceara, the 15-minute boss of Deniz within 1 minute
• Noxious Bomb – Defeat Gharunder in less than 1 minute on Tucma stage
• Toxic Waste – Equip at least 3 Toxic techniques

Gears for Platypet –

• Biotoxin Matter – Deal 1,000 damage with Toxic type techniques
• Hydro Turbine – Start the game with this ability
• Heatsink – Use Playtpet Ultimate 15 times in a match
• Holster – Survive 10 Minutes in Cipanku
• Toxins – Playing Platypet, reach level 25
• Forfity Band – Start the game with this ability
• Resistance Badge – Deal 1,000 damage with Neutral type techniques
• Oozing Scent – Deal 15,000 damage with Ki Field
• Stim Pack – Deal 15,000 damage with Data Burst (Oree)
• Holocore – Defeat Gorong on the Arbury stage

How do I unlock all of Platypet’s synergy techniques?

Before you can combine the relevant techniques and gears, you will have to max out the level of the technique in a run beforehand, which will unlock the + variant, the synergy technique. You will know if the technique has reached its maximum level, as it will have a star next to the perk.

Now, it’s time to move onto the run where you intend to use the synergy technique. Start the run, grab the necessary perks, and level them to their maximum. You will then need to evolve Platypet at least once. If not, you will not be offered the synergy technique. After you’ve done this, the next time you level up, you should have the option of the synergy technique.

So far, we have found the Water Blade +, Water Cannon+  and the Noxious Bomb+ to be the best synergy attacks. However, trying all the synergy moves at least once would be best, as others may suit your playstyle more. We have listed all ten synergy technique combinations.
