One of the most significant and impressive new features in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, also known as Yakuza 8, is Dondoko Island, the Animal Crossing-like location where you can spend dozens of hours gathering materials, furnishing the island, and welcoming tourists. Here’s how to unlock Dondoko Island in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
How do I unlock Dondoko Island in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth?
If you want to unlock Dondoko Island, you’re going to have to reach Chapter 6 in the main story of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth. This may not sound too bad, but it can take players quite a bit of time to reach here. Once you get to Chapter 6, you simply need to continue following the main story. You unlock Dondoko Island very early in the chapter.
As the player gets closer to finding out more about the location of a certain person, Ichiban will inevitably have a point where he starts cleaning up the beachfront area. At this point, players will meet a certain turtle and an NPC named Gachapin. The player will be taken to Dondoko Island at this point as part of the main story.
How long does it take to reach Chapter 6 in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth?
It is quite easy to unlock Dondoko Island, if you have the time and patience required. Chapter 6 can take quite a bit of time to reach, especially if you are the type of person to grind levels and check out all of the minigames available. On average, I would say it takes about three hours to complete each chapter of the main story, give or take some time.
For me, personally, it took about 16 or 17 hours to reach the point in Chapter 6 where I unlocked Dondoko Island. You can do it likely much faster than this if you don’t spend a lot of time checking out side content like the Sujimon League and Miss Match, and focus solely on the main story.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is available for the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
