Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail patch 7.05 brought with it a good bit of new content for players to check out. Those of you who are Treasure Hunt fans from past dungeons like Excitatron 6000 will be happy to know there is a new variant in this expansion. Here’s how to unlock the Cenote Ja Ja Gural in FFXIV.

How to Do the Cenote Ja Ja Gural Treasure Hunt Dungeon in FFXIV Dawntrail

There is a level requirement you need to know about when it comes to Cenote Ja Ja Gural. You need to have a level 100, which is the current max, for a Disciple of War or Magic job class. From there, you then need to acquire a Timeworn Br’aaxskin Map. This will be familiar to anyone who’s done Treasure Hunts before.

At this point, all you need to do is use the map and it will show you a treasure location. These will generally be somewhere in one of the six main areas in this fifth expansion. Head there after deciphering the map and you will find a reward if you dig in the right spot. You will either get a certain treasure reward, such as the valuable Timeless Turali Cloth or a portal. If you get a portal (generally believed to be about a 50% chance), you will then be able to enter Cenote Ja Ja Gural with a party of up to eight players. I do recommend this since it is quite tough.

How to Get a Timeworn Br’aaxskin Map in FFXIV

Your main issue when it comes to unlocking Cenote Ja Ja Gural is the Timeworn Br’aaxskin Maps in FFXIV. You need one of these if you’d like to do this Treasure Hunt dungeon. There are three different ways to acquire one:

• Market Board
• Gathering
• Wondrous Tails

Wondrous Tails is iffy since you have to complete a line to get it. This is totally random each week so I don’t recommend relying on it. Gathering is great but it is a hidden item so not always guaranteed at nodes in Tural. As such, the best method, in my opinion, is to just buy it off the Market Board. Surprisingly, these maps are already pretty cheap, in my opinion, so worth going this path if you can spare a little Gil.
