How to Turn Off Mouse Acceleration in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals is a generally excellent third-person shooter competitive title on PC, but there are some awkward parts of it. If you happen to use a keyboard and mouse for your input method, you may run into some issues. Here’s how mouse acceleration works in Marvel Rivals and how to turn this off.

How Mouse Acceleration Works

Mouse acceleration is a type of feature that is meant to make pointing-and-clicking with your mouse more accurate and better, but it is generally problematic in a precise title like this one. While this isn’t a perfect comparison, I like to think of mouse acceleration like aim assist in some games with a controller.

Essentially mouse acceleration works where the faster or slower you use your mouse, the acceleration will increase or decrease. This is to make it so your targeting is seemingly more precise and accurate. The problem, however, is sometimes this makes targeting a bit finicky, sluggish, or even straight up misleading. If you generally trust in your mouse targeting skills in a game like this one, it pays off to turn off mouse acceleration.

How to Turn Off Mouse Acceleration in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals will allow players to disable mouse acceleration as a permanent feature within the game itself in the near future, but it isn’t available just yet. Yes, despite this being present within the game, there is no setting option for you to turn it off within the PC title. However, there is a way to disable this feature in the meantime using your computer.

What you want to do is go to your Desktop, search in your computer for “mouse settings.” I find this is the easiest way to locate this computer setting. From there, go to your “additional mouse options” on the right-hand side of the screen if you are on a Windows PC. Then you want to pick “Pointer Options.” Under the “Motion” section here, unclick the “Enhance Pointer Precision” option and this will disable mouse acceleration in Marvel Rivals.

Marvel Rivals is available right now for free for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
