How to Tell Which Heismay Is Real in Metaphor: ReFantazio

When hunting down Heismay in Metaphor: ReFantazio for the bounty and possible opportunity for attention, you’ll find yourself in fights with the real Eugief and three of his clones. Attacking one of the illusions results in it being blocked, you losing turns, and him getting the upper hand! So, here’s how to pick out the actual opponent.

How do I determine which Heismay is the real one in Metaphor: ReFantazio?

You end up fighting Heismay twice in his sandworm caverns hideout. The first fight is honestly an “easy” one, while the second is the for real match. After you first encounter him and fight, it will be cut short. You’ll end up needing to investigate his home, then go into a proper bout with him the second time around. 

The key to finding the real Heismay in each of these Metaphor: ReFantazio fights is to look for the one with the shadow. Only one of the four will cast one. Aside from that, they all move in time with each other, are dressed the same, and have similar sorts of attacks. So just make sure that when the next round begins after Heismay creates his clones, you only target the one with the shadow. If you do, the fight will go smoothly.

Also, don’t worry about finding the solution to getting Heismay to reappear after the first fight and searching his hideout. There’s no possible way to get a wrong answer after checking all of the different glittering points inside. But if you do want to speed it up, the two right answers there are “There’s a lot of cloth…” and “To dampen noise.”

After you get through these fights and instances, you’ll head back to Martira and see him eventually join your party.
