How to Stay Warm in Cold Areas in Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

If you get near Hebra Mountain in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, either for a story-related quest or while exploring to fill out the map, you quickly learn it gets cold up there and Zelda will lose health and die if you can’t figure out how to keep her warm! If you’re venturing there ahead of when you probably should be, there’s a trick to keep her safe.

How do I keep Zelda warm in the cold Hebra Mountain in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Thank goodness for Ignizol! This is one of the Zol enemy variants you can find in the Suthorn region of Hyrule. Odds are, you picked one up in the first cave in Suthorn Forest while heading to the first dungeon in the game! It’s a fire-type monster, and a very convenient one that Zelda can lift over her head.

Which is to say one way to keep Zelda warm in a cold place in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is to summon an echo of a fiery creature or item and stay near it. There are some torches in the area, but they’re few and far between. I recommend summoning two Ignizols if you’re going to this spot before you even hit the Gerudo or Jabul regions. Have Zelda constantly carrying one over her head by lifting it. Have the other on the ground so it can walk alongside you. That way, you’re always prepared!

If you have been to Gerudo Town or the desert surrounding it, getting warm becomes much easier. The shop there sells Warm Peppers for 50 rupees each, and the Tornado enemies sometimes drop them when defeated. This gives Zelda cold resistance for a limited time. Pick a few up. Head to a Smoothie Shop. Combine two Warm Peppers together for a Warm Smoothie. You’ll be set.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is available for the Nintendo Switch
