How to Start WoW Visions of Azeroth Event Quest

While short, the Visions of Azeroth questline will see players heading from Silithus to Dalaran and meeting several characters both new and old, as Blizzard sets the stage for the story of The War Within. You’ll also get a chance to view some recap cinematics, so if that sounds useful then here’s what you need to do to start the new World of Warcraft quest Visions of Azeroth.

What you Need to begin the Visions of Azeroth questline in WoW

Prior to the quest’s release, Blizzard stated that players would be required to be on a level 70 character that has completed the Dragonflight campaign, however that no longer seems the case. The current requirements instead require you to complete the Hunt for the Harbinger questline which should pop up automatically at level 70. You only need to complete this quest on one character, however, as the new Warband system appears to make this count for all your characters.

You should now be eligible to start the Visions of Azeroth quest in World of Warcraft, but there’s one more thing. While level 70 is the stated requirement for the quest it appears that slightly lower level characters, around level 60-69, have also been able to access it. Any lower than that, though, and you will instead receive an expedited version of the questline called Radiant Echoes that skips straight to Khadgar in Dalaran. This is useful if you just want to get to the event, but if you want to see the story you should wait until you hit level 60-70 and receive the quest called The War Within.

How to Complete the Visions of Azeroth Questline in WoW

Now that you have the requirements out of the way, you can get started on the quest proper. You should receive the quest automatically, but if not just return to your faction’s capital city of Stormwind or Orgrimmar to make it appear. You’ll receive a summons from either Jaina or Thrall as well as a teleport scroll to save you the long trip to Silithus. Use it and talk to Thrall or Jaina on the other side.

Here, Thrall will give you the next quest to enter the Heart Chamber of Azeroth and talk to Magni Bronzebeard, but before you go you may also want to watch the cutscene he offers. It essentially recaps the important events from as far back as the Legion expansion, and is a good idea to watch if you’re not totally caught up on the story. Otherwise, head into the crater behind Thrall and interact with the teleporter.

Inside you’ll talk to Magni and help him begin a ritual by activating the 3 titan consoles around the room. Talk to him again to trigger a short cutscene, after which Jaina asks you to meet them in Dalaran and summons a helpful portal too. Once there talk to Khadgar, then pick up another quest from Moira Thaurissan to go meet Brann and new character Dagran. You can find them by exiting the room via the portal to the North-East, then going to the Dalaran Visitor’s Center on the south side of the central tower. Talk to Brann, then return back to Moira.

You’re pretty much done now, but if you want to hear a little more story talk to Moira and select the option to Stay a While and Listen for a short speech to her unconscious father. After that, Khadgar now offers the same Memories of Adventures Past quest that lower level characters get sent straight to, introducing you to the Radiant Echoes event.

So that’s how to start and complete the Visions of Azeroth quest in WoW, make sure to check out Siliconera’s other guides on how to start the pre-patch event, or whether you need to finish the Dragonflight campaign before The War Within launches.

World of Warcraft is immediately available on PC and Mac, while The War Within expansion launches August 26, 2024.
