How to Obtain and Use the Cookbook in Moonstone Island

The Cookbook is an easy item to obtain in Moonstone Island, as it will be delivered directly to you. The appearance is random, but if you load up an existing save game, a letter from Ossono will arrive in a couple of days providing you with the Cookbook and the blueprints for the Prep Station and Stove.

To use the Cookbook, place it somewhere within your house like any other crafting station. Interacting with the Cookbook will allow you to see all your available recipes. They will list the ingredients you need and allow you to pin recipes. These recipes will be pinned to the stove for quick reference when you start cooking.

If somehow you end up destroying the original Cookbook, it is possible to craft a new one. You can craft it from the menu using 3 Wood and 3 Cloth.

How to Craft the Prep Station and Stove

In order to start cooking in Moonstone Island, you’ll need a Prep Station and a Stove. While the Stove is the crafting station you’ll need to make the actual recipes, many ingredients can only be obtained by crafting them at the Prep Station, such as Noodles.

The blueprints for both will be delivered with the Cookbook, so you just need to go into the Crafting Menu to make them. The Prep Station requires 5 Wood and 1 Iron Ingot while the Stove requires 5 Wood and 2 Iron Ingots.

Cooking with the Stove is straightforward. Interact with it once you’ve placed it in your house and you’ll see multiple slots. Select your ingredients to place them in the slots. If you’ve pinned any recipes in the Cookbook, they’ll be on screen for you to consult.

Moonstone Island is now available for PC and Nintendo Switch.
