How to Save the Cats at the Docks in Mineko’s Night Market

While many of the prior Mineko’s Night Market escapades, like Village Gardens, require dashing in and out to save cats, the Docks is different. This is an area where you need a certain amount of money to ensure you can set all four captured cats free and make the agents leave. However, if you do have about $500-600 saved up from your last Night Market sales, you’ll breeze through this new location. 

How to Access the Docks in Mineko’s Night Market

As with the Birch Forest, the Docks is one of the subsequent Mineko’s Night Market locations that requires you to own a tool — the Fishing Rod — to gain entry. The town Hunk sells it, so head to his shop next to Bobo’s Mom’s general store. Once you buy it, you’ll learn the bus will now head to the Docks location. However, you can’t use this new tool until you clear that area.

How to Save the Cats at the Docks in Mineko’s Night Market

The first thing you want to do in this area is talk to the person sitting against the bus sign. All of the agents here are shining their flashlights on the road, so you can’t get past them yet. When Mineko talks to the character, she’ll learn this is the Delivery Boy who is tired of that gig. You’ll get his outfit and will “replace” him. This allows you to get past the agents.

In each situation, you’ll need to buy a particular meal for the agent from the restaurant at the end of the street. However, you won’t get the money back from the person until after you make the delivery. Each of the three different kinds of meals is $80. 

Here’s what each agent wants:

• Agent closest to the bus stop: $80 Curry to Go
• Agent next to the agent nearest the bus stop: $80 Sushi to Go
• Agent next to the truck and building with blue fabric door: $80 Curry to Go
• Agent across from the Snack Shack: $80 Yakisoba to Go

At this point, all of the agents will leave. Cats will return to the area, allowing you to gather hairballs from them. You can also buy food from Snack Shack or sell items to Tak the TakoMan. You can also fish off the dock across from Snack Shack.

Mineko’s Night Market is available on the Nintendo Switch and PC. It will be on the PS4, PS5, and Xbox One on October 26, 2023.
