An easygoing and cheerful guy, Gustafa is pretty easy to romance in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life. As one of the marriage candidates in the game, he is happy to receive gifts from you and will grow closer to you over time if you visit him every single day.

Like all villagers in Forgotten Valley, Gustafa has both loves, likes, and dislikes when it comes to gifts. Some of these are:

• Loves: Milk (B quality and above), Flowers.
• Likes: Milky Soup, Moonlight Ore, Stew, Crops (except Tomatoes).
• Dislikes: Fertilizer, Mushrooms, Wild Plants, Fish, Failed Dishes, Tomato Seeds, Tomatoes.

Avoid Gustafa’s dislikes at all costs. Otherwise, he will refuse to take it and your relationship may sour over time. You can gift him up to four times per day if you rotate the type of item you give him. For example, you could give him a Milk, a Goddess Drop flower, Stew, and a Potato.

Where can I find Gustafa in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?

Gustafa is relatively easy to keep track of compared to other townsfolk, as he generally seems to stay in the same areas and doesn’t wander too far. I regularly found him in the following spots:

• 9 AM – 10 AM: Inside his yurt.
• 10 AM – 12:30 PM: Playing guitar outside his yurt.
• 1 PM – 3:30 PM: Walking on Forest Path.
• 4 PM – 6:30 PM: Playing guitar in the Forest.
• 6:30 PM – 9 PM: Walking back to his yurt.
• 9 PM – 12 AM: Inside his yurt.

If, for some reason, he isn’t where you expect him to be at a certain time, open up the map and hover over each icon to see which villager is where. This will show his current location. If he’s sitting down and playing guitar, you’ll need to wait until he’s finished to be able to give him a gift.

How do I check my romance level with Gustafa in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?

To check how much Gustafa likes you in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, enter his Yurt around 9 AM before he leaves for the day. His diary is between the seat cushions of the couch to the left of his bed.

How many hearts are displayed here indicates Gustafa’s feelings toward you. Once you see five hearts in his diary (or eight hearts on the Resident Info page of your journal), you will have successfully romanced Gustafa and he’ll accept your proposal with a Blue Feather.

How do I get every Gustafa Heart Event in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life?

There are four heart events for Gustafa in Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life, which gives you more insight into the traveling bard. Each one is tied to a heart in his romance bar. Here’s how to trigger them:

1-Heart Event

In the Spring, on a non-rainy day, leave your farm after 6 AM. Gustafa will be playing the lute outside of his yurt. Chat with him, and he’ll ask to play a song for you.

• Select “Sure!” when he asks if you’ve got a second to chat.
• Choose “Yeah, man!” when he asks if you have days where it feels like nothing could ever go wrong.
• Select “All the way!” when he asks if he can sing a song for you.

2-Heart Event

In the Summer, visit Gustafa in his yurt between 9 AM and 10 AM. He will ask if you want to spend time and chat with him before asking how you feel about Forgotten Valley and playing you a song.

• Select “Sure am!” when he asks if you’re there to hang out.
• Choose “Sure!” when he asks if you can chat.
• Select “I love it.” when Gustafa asks what you think of Forgotten Valley.
• Select “Music to my ears!” when he asks to play a song for you.

4-Heart Event

In the Fall, walk outside your house after 1 PM, and Gustafa will approach you on your farm. He asks if you’d like to take a walk to the Forest.

• Select “Yeah, that sounds nice.” when he asks if you want to go on a stroll.
• When he asks if you think waterfalls are soothing, answer “There sure is.”
• Choose “Always!” when he asks if you want to listen to him sing. He’ll thank you for accompanying him by gifting you a Mist Moon Flower.

6-Heart Event

In Fall or Winter, walk by the Inn after 7 PM. You’ll see Gustafa go inside the café and follow him inside. He’ll ask you to sit down and have a drink with him.

• When Gustafa asks if you’d like to go stargazing, select “Ooh, yes!”
• After going outside, reply “Let me think…” when he asks you what you think the stars are trying to tell him.
• He’ll ask if you want to listen to him sing. Choose “In-dubitably!” and he’ll finally finish his song.
