How to Remove Wanted Status in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

Assassin’s Creed Shadows may feature an open-world that is far from the present day and set in the 16th century Japan, but it still has some similar mechanics to more modern-set open-world games. For instance, there is a Wanted status you can get in Assassin’s Creed Shadows that you will want to remove as soon as possible or else it will be a headache.

How the Wanted Status Works

The Wanted status works pretty much how you expect, if you have played other similar open-world adventures in the past. You get this status if enemies see you doing something bad or illegal. For instance, if they spot you while in a red enemy area. Or, if you are in the middle of town and you murder someone. The key, though, is the enemy has to ring the bell nearby.

When this bell rings, you get this status. It is also worth noting that there are some limitations to it. For instance, Wanted only happens for a single protagonist at once. If you do something bad as Naoe, for example, Yasuke does not have the same status. In addition, this status only works in a single region at a time.

How to Remove Wanted in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

When it comes to removing the Wanted status from a character in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there are two options. If you upgrade your Hideout enough, you can pay some Mon to have it removed. The other option is to wait until the season changes and you get that cutscene. You can speed that up some by fast traveling far away back-and-forth many times.

However, in the meantime while you wait, there are some steps you can also take. For one, you only have Wanted in that particular region. So, you could go to another province and be fine. Or you could even switch to the other protagonist and no one will have any issues with your character at all this way.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
