Reynatis is an action RPG that is clearly inspired by classics in the genre, such as Kingdom Hearts and The World Ends with You. That said, Reynatis implements many interesting mechanics to keep itself unique, one of them being its stressed system. In this guide, we explain what the stress system is and how to keep it down.
What is stress in Reynatis?
If citizens in Shibuya see wizards liberated form, it will trend on social media. This will continue to go up until you reach a safe spot, which is located in each area of the map. The M.E.A. Task Force will come after you if you land on the number one spot on trending. Think of it like the GTA wanted star system, and you’re on the right track.
However, trending will also physically impact the characters, and as a result, they will become stressed. The more stressed your characters are, the more vulnerable they will be to incoming aggression. For instance, if the meter hits 60, attacks that land on you would do 10% more damage. If it reaches 90, it will do 50% more damage.
On the plus side, your damage output will increase if you are stressed. Using the numbers previously, if you hit 60, your damage will increase by 10%, and if you reach 90, your damage will ramp up by 40%.
When you start reaching higher numbers on the stress meter, there is an argument that the buffs and debuffs no longer benefit most players. We recommend keeping your stress level at 0, as you will have a 20% damage resistance. Obviously, this will depend on how confident you are with your skill level and playstyle.
How to reduce stress in Reynatis
If you want to prevent becoming stressed in the first place, make sure you dash to the nearest safe spot when civilians see your liberated form. Wait until the trending beeping noise disappears before leaving.
In Shibuya, there are vending machines scattered across the city where you can purchase drinks to lower your stress. Be careful; some of these drinks will have different pricing but recover the same stress. Premium Boss Black, Dekavita C and HYPER ZONe are the best value-for-money drinks we recommend. Fun fact: A lot of these drinks are references to the Yakuza series.
If you do not want to use cash, there are free methods to lower your stress. The easiest one is petting cats you find in the city. To do this, whenever you come across a cat, interact with it, and it will lower your stress. The other one is beating enemies. Whenever you complete a fight with an enemy, your stress will dramatically drop. This is probably the best method to adopt if your stress is super high, although you will have to be careful of the debuffs not to catch you out. It’s worth noting that you have to beat the enemies you are fighting. If you run away from the match, it will not recover any stress.Â
Reynatis will come to the PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC in North America and Europe on September 27, 2024, and then in Australia on October 4, 2024.
