Starfield is full of various colorful characters to meet as you traverse and uncover the galaxy. As part of your adventures, one of the companions you’ll meet in the main story is none other than Sam Coe. If you want to recruit Sam Coe to your team in Starfield, you’re in the right place.
How to Recruit Sam Coe in Starfield
Sam Coe is the charming and lovable cowboy outlaw member of Constellation, which is the core group you are part of for the main story in Starfield. Fortunately, this means recruiting him to your team and even potentially romancing him is quite easy.
What you want to do is play the main story of the game through the prologue and meeting Constellation, and then complete The Old Neighborhood quest alongside Sarah Morgan. Once this is done, you’ll unlock three major quests and you can do them in any order.
If you want Sam Coe, you’ll want to tackle the “The Empty Nest” quest. Talk with Sam at the Lodge and him and his daughter, Cora Coe, will join your ship for this quest. To make this awesome duo a permanent part of your team, you’ll want to take them to Akila City.
Continue through this main quest alongside Sam until you complete it. After its completion, you’ll get him as a permanent party member. You can now use him as an active companion to travel alongside you or, alternatively, add him to your ship or one of your outposts as a crew member.
He is a valuable asset for both ships and outposts, so he is great for using there unless you wish to romance him. Yes, you can romance this cowboy single daddy, but it requires you to travel alongside him and make the right kindhearted choices until his approval is high enough to learn more about him.
