Whether or not you are interested in a little grizzly bear romance, Halsin is a valuable ally you could add to your party in Baldur’s Gate 3. However, it is a bit of a challenge to find and recruit him compared to some of the other party members. Here’s what you need to do to recruit Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3.
How to Reach the Goblin Camp in Baldur’s Gate 3
After completing the prologue in Baldur’s Gate 3, head to the Druid Grove settlement to the north to find out about the struggles between the Tieflings, Druids, and goblins. In the midst of all of this, the head Druid Halsin went missing.
To find him and add him to your team, you need to make your way to the Goblin Camp to the west. Unless you have terrific persuasion skills though, you should first head to the prison in the Grove on the northern side.
You want to break out the goblin there by picking the lock. You can escort her out of the town the front way, but this requires several persuasion checks. Alternatively, there is a path that goes behind the prison cell that leads you directly out of town.
The goblin girl will be your guide to the Goblin Camp in exchange for helping, allowing you to enter there peacefully. When inside the camp, head into the main temple and go into the Worg Pens to the northeast.
Where to Find and Recruit Halsin in Baldur’s Gate 3
Save before approaching the bear in the prison cell, which is Halsin. You automatically are forced to choose between the goblins in these pens or Halsin as a bear. Side with him and a fight ensues. Make sure to take out both of the dashing goblins first to stop them from leaving the area and summoning more troops.
After winning the fight, Halsin will agree to join you once the three goblin leaders are defeated. Have him wait there and you can take out the priestess on the west side of the temple and the hobgoblin leader to the north.
For Minthara, the final leader, pretend to be on her side and have her go to attack the Druid Grove. Go there and side with the Tieflings to have some backup and defeat her for good. After the celebration party that night, Halsin will finally join your permanently.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is available for PCs and will release for the PS5 on September 6, 2023.
