How to Recruit Garoo in Eiyuden Chronicle

Garoo is one of the more unique companions you can recruit to the Watch during your adventures in this modern JRPG. Fortunately, if you want to add this funny little anthropomorphic kangaroo fella to your team, you only have to continue playing through the main story. No funny business to be found here.

Once you get to the point where you unlock the home base town in the story, you’ll be sent to the Treefolk Village soon after. When you arrive here, you’ll meet some new characters and recruit them instantly. This includes Garoo, who will now be available as a temporary party member for battles. To permanently unlock Garoo, simply continue playing until you beat Seign’s story arc.

Best Garoo Build Tips

Garoo the kangaroo is primarily a melee fighting character in Eiyuden Chronicle. This means you want the eyepatch-wearing fella in the front of your formation and hitting enemies hard every single turn. He is one of the stronger pure damage characters in the game. I recommend the following runes and accessories if you keep him in your main battle party:

  • Rune: Rune of Fire (for a little offensive potential) or Rune of Power (depending on the slot)
  • Accessory: Necklace (for higher critical rate) or Ruby Ring (more strength)

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is available now for Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
