How do I play with friends in Palia?

Playing with friends is relatively simple, and you can immediately do so once you’ve completed the tutorial. First, you will need to add friends to your friend list. This can be accessed by opening your friend menu and by selecting the large plus sign. You will then be able to search for a player by their in-game name, not their Palia account name. From there, you can follow them. Once they are following you too, they will be added to your friend list.

Once they are on your friend list, you can then select the plus by their name to add them to your party. Now you can traverse Kilima and Bahari Bay as a group, as well as visit their plots! As of December 17, 2023, this is the only way you can add friends to your party outside of using the Community feature, or by being in the same instance as them.

How do I join a friend’s instance in Palia?

Once you’ve joined a friend’s party, you may not be in the same instance. In order to do this, navigate back to your friend list menu and select anyone on your friend list, be it party or not, and click the icon that has two arrows circling each other. You will be prompted to invite the player to your instance. After doing so, you will appear in the same instance as your friend, or vice versa. Playing together is always recommended as you can obtain crafting materials faster if harvesting together, and you will always get the same amount of rewards as your friend. You do not need to be in a party to enter the same instance as your friends.

Palia is available for the PC and Nintendo Switch.
