How to Play Gundam Breaker 4 Online Multiplayer

Gundam Breaker 4 is the long-awaited return of this beloved mecha game sub-series, and it comes with online multiplayer functionality. Unfortunately, knowing how to play online multiplayer in Gundam Breaker 4, especially with friends, can be a bit confusing. Fortunately, here is what you need to do.

How to Play Gundam Breaker 4 Online Multiplayer With Friends

The easiest way to connect online is to simply turn on multiplayer in the main menu when you boot up the game. But if for whatever reason, you aren’t able to enable multiplayer here, you can still do while in the main lobby. Speak with the adorable blue bear NPC in the Network section of the lobby.

This will let you connect online and start seeing other players in the lobby alongside you. From there, if you want to actually play online with a friend or stranger, head on over to the Multiplayer Desk. This is the yellow one next to the main mission location. Here, you can look for friends, see any friends who have open parties, and join random strangers who are looking for additional members.

Is Gundam Breaker 4 Always Online?

The key concern with such a massively online multiplayer game is whether or not Gundam Breaker 4 is always online. Fortunately, I can confirm that you are able to play this game almost entirely offline if you want. The story mode is fully available for solo players to enjoy by themselves without needing to play online.

That said, you miss out on a long of functionality playing offline. For one, you aren’t able to take advantage of clans. In addition, the grind is much more intense without other players. You still have NPC companions but they aren’t even a fraction as good as others. If you are looking for particular parts, I highly recommend teaming up with other players.
