Just when you think you’ve explored all of Dracula’s Castle, the new Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania map reveals more twists and turns around every corner. Thankfully, teleportation gates scattered around make traversing the labyrinth much more manageable – but only after you’ve unlocked them. Here’s how to find the Relic and open the Serpent Gate in the Vampire Survivors Castlevania map.
Where to Unlock the Serpent Gate in Vampire Survivors Ode to Castlevania
To open the Serpent Gate in Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania, you’ll have to reach the Catacombs and defeat Menace (sometimes referred to as Nemesis). However, the Catacombs and areas beyond can only be accessed after defeating the final boss with Richter Belmont. If you haven’t yet unlocked Richter Belmont and completed the showdown in the Throne Room, you must do so first.
The image below shows the exact path to reach the end of the Catacombs and the Menace boss.
Reaching Menace can be done very quickly, as the entrance to the Catacombs is located just to the south of the beginning of the stage. Follow these steps to easily unlock the Serpent Gate:
1) Navigate through the Forest
From the starting location of your run, immediately head southwest and down the dirt path. Continue south down a more narrow pathway until you can turn east. Follow the dirt path to the east until you reach a wall of trees. If you stay on the path, you can walk through the trees and reveal a hidden area with a stone structure. Enter the structure and pass through the newly unlocked doors.
2) Enter the Catacombs
The Catacombs is a very large, rectangular room; however, you can easily reach Menace by heading directly east from the entrance. You shouldn’t have to make any turns – just continue east until you find the boss rune on the ground.
3) Find and Defeat Menace
At the very eastern edge of the Catacombs, you’ll spot the rune to summon Menace. Walk over it to summon and defeat the hulking monstrosity, which will reward you with the Relic needed to unlock the Serpent Gate.
After you’ve unlocked the Serpent Gate, you can use it at the beginning of each run to teleport directly to the Ice Caverns just east of the Catacombs, allowing you a head start into the new and unexplored areas of Dracula’s Castle. Additionally, you may now discover Clockwork Weapons around the map, increasing your vampire-slaying arsenal even further.
Vampire Survivors and the Ode to Castlevania DLC are now available on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and mobile devices.
