How to Make a New Save File on Temtem: Swarm

Temtem: Swarm is an adorable roguelike shoot ’em up based on the creature-collecting MMORPG Temtem. Right now, Temtem: Swarm is available in early access, and there is plenty of content for fans to feast upon, including seven playable characters, a comprehensive move pool, and five maps centred around locations in the original game.

However, like many other titles in the genre, your experience with Temtem: Swarm can look highly different depending on how many hours you invest in the skill tree and unlocking various moves. Maybe you’re looking to relive the highs of the first few hours of Temtem: Swarm again but don’t want to lose your progress. Or perhaps you want to share the experience with someone else. No matter the reason, this guide will explain how you can make a brand new save file to start your journey from the beginning again without losing your previous progression.

How Do I Make a New Save File in Temtem: Swarm?

When you initially boot up Temtem: Swarm, it might not necessarily be apparent how you would start a new save file. In fact, you might even think it’s not possible. But we can reassure you that this is not the case, and it’s actually relatively easy to start a new save file when you know how.

From the main menu screen, you will want to go into settings. You will be in the game sub-section when you open this up. Stay on this and scroll all the way to the bottom, where it states, “Switch Save Profile”. You should see three potential save slots showing your progress percentage. Click on one of the new save file slots, and as simple as that, you will be on a brand new save file, ready to start your adventure again. If you ever want to jump back to a previous save, go into the “Switch Save Profile” and select the file you wish to return to.

You can also reset your progress. This may be helpful if you ever didn’t like your decision on the skill tree or want to make a new file again and don’t mind erasing your progress. Like previously, go into the “Switch Save Profile”. Now select the save file you want to erase and select reset. The data from the save will now be gone.

Temtem: Swarm is now available in early access on Steam.
