How to Make a Fan in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom

You can make many unique weapon combinations in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. However, one of the most useful items is the Guster, which allows you to create a gust of wind to knock foes down. The makeshift weapon can also spread fire, giving Link a portable spot to use his Glider anywhere on the map. Here is how to make a fan, aka a Guster, in Tears of the Kingdom.

How do I make the Guster fan in Tears of the Kingdom?

Although the Korok Frond is a popular item to propel boats, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has an easy-to-make alternative item called the Guster. After all, not every place on the map has a Korok Frond lying around. Trust me, I’ve wasted hours looking for one when needing one in a pinch. Luckily, you can create the Guster with everyday materials that will likely always be in your inventory throughout your adventure.

To make a Guster fan in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you simply need to weld a tree branch and a board together using Link’s Fuse ability. You can also make a Guster by fusing any sword or stick with a board or barricade. Easy peasy!

While exploring, keep an eye out for the Hudson Construction supply units spread across Hyrule. These spots are always packed with boards that can quickly aid you in your fan-making journey. I was also able to find supplies at the back of most stables. Don’t forget that you can unfuse if you ever need to, but you will lose the barricade or board in the process.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is available exclusively on the Nintendo Switch.
